Non-Resident Student application documents for school year 2017-18 in South Madison Community School Corporation will be posted online no later than March 1, 2017.
The application window will be March 1 – April 28, 2017. Non-Resident Student Applications will be accepted only for the schools and the grade levels where openings are available and only if the student meets application criteria.
To be accepted for enrollment, the student must meet the criteria in Indiana law, HEA 1381-P.L.281-2013. School and grade-level openings will be posted no later than March 1, 2017. If applications for a school and grade level exceed the number of openings, a lottery will be conducted to determine enrollment. If openings exist in another elementary school in that grade level, the parent will have the opportunity to enroll where the openings exist.
Step 1: Submit the application and required documents in March before attending Kindergarten Round-Up. Parents will receive documentation that the application has been received and will present it at Round-Up in lieu of proof of residency documents.
Step 2: Attend Kindergarten Round-Up with your child anytime from 1 – 6 p.m. as follows.
- East Elementary School – April 4, 2017
- Pendleton Elementary School Primary – April 5, 2017
- Maple Ridge Elementary School – April 6, 2017
Step 3: Applications go to the School Board for approval; lottery will be conducted, if needed. Applicants will be notified of acceptance and school assigned no later than May 12, 2017.
